We believe that all human beings were created by God in His image and have an inherent great value. Human trafficking, particularly coerced sex, is a wretched evil done in defiance of God and moral government, and is a detriment not only to the individual victims, but also society as a whole. Our desire is to assist women who have been rescued by giving them a safe place to rest, heal, and begin rediscovering their personal value in Jesus Christ. We want to help provide support and the tools needed for them to have hope and live a life of purpose and freedom.
Founded in September 2023, the Freedom's Harbor board members hit the ground running with networking, raising money, and pursuing training with the goal of establishing a transitional home in central Alabama. Freedom's Finds, a second-hand shop where the profits all support the ministry, opened in November of that year. At a conference in early 2024, it was shared that one of the biggest needs in Alabama trafficking ministry was for a Stabilization home, and we decided to shift our goal a little bit to fill that gap. In April, we joined forces with Hope Filled Rooms, a local ministry, and we're continuing to push forward with plans to start a Stabilization home soon.
